Maverick Environmental Equipment, an equipment dealer based in Michigan, merged with Grand Equipment Co.

Grand Equipment is a portfolio company of Cognitive Capital Partners.

“We are thrilled to partner with the Maverick team,” says Jeff Grasman, CEO of Grand Equipment, a heavy equipment dealer and rental company based in Hudsonville, Michigan. “Maverick is a highly recognized leader in the aggregate processing space, and the combination of the two companies is a powerful step in the right direction as we continue to expand our geographic footprint, equipment offerings and service coverage. We see an incredible opportunity to better serve both our customers.”

Maverick specializes in aggregate processing, waste recycling and environmental equipment, parts, attachments and services. It has locations in Michigan and Ohio and recently expanded into California as a means to serve the West.

“Our business has experienced tremendous growth during our first seven years, directly attributable to our top-of-line OEMs and our incredible team of employees,” say Maverick’s Tim Smith and Charlie Stahl in a written statement. “The quality of our brands, along with the people we have supporting them, will continue to be imperative to our continued success.”

Maverick’s operation in California is headed by John O’Neill, who previously served McCloskey International as vice president of global sales. The company’s California location is in Perris.

Two other Maverick facilities are in Newbury and Bremen, Ohio.

“We couldn’t be more excited to start our partnership with Maverick,” says Billy Smith, partner at Cognitive. “Tim and Charlie have done a tremendous job building Maverick from the ground up, and the strategic partnership with Grand will help elevate both businesses to the next level.”
