Martin Stone Quarries, an aggregate producer located in Bechtelsville, Pennsylvania, made a record donation to an organization fostering educational experiences for local students.

Martin Stone delivered a $75,000 donation to the Foundation for Boyertown Education, continuing its longtime support of the Boyertown community.

“Seeing what the Foundation for Boyertown Education does for our students makes it easy to support them,” says Rod Martin, the president of Martin Stone who experienced life as both a student and a parent in the Boyertown Area School District. “The members of the Martin family are proud to stand behind the foundation and the great work they do.”

According to Martin Stone, the programs, equipment and projects the Foundation for Boyertown Education funds span pre-K to high school. The foundation has enhanced programs in the arts and music departments, upgraded the school district’s technology and science departments, and created a life skills program.

Martin Stone says the Foundation for Boyertown Education relies on donations to advance programs. The foundation has provided nearly $1 million in teacher grants to benefit students in the Boyertown Area School District since 2013.

Amy Muzopappa, executive director of the Foundation for Boyertown Education, is grateful for Martin Stone’s donation.

“When I first saw the email come through, I had to read it again,” Muzopappa says. “I thought maybe I was seeing too many zeroes. It’s an incredible gift.”

According to Martin Stone, its donation will enable the foundation to cover the cost of programs designed to encourage the next generation to pursue STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) pathways.
