Luck Companies veteran Williams earns environmental award

The National Stone, Sand & Gravel Association (NSSGA) recognized Luck Companies‘ Mark Williams with its 2019 Environmental Leadership Award.

Williams, the environmental manager at Luck Companies, was presented the award during NSSGA’s Legislative & Policy Forum in Washington, D.C. He joined Luck Companies in 2005 and has served in his current role since 2008.

“We are so proud of Mark for earning the industry’s highest honor given to an individual who has demonstrated exceptional leadership and made noteworthy contributions in the field of environmental stewardship,” says Charlie Luck, president and CEO of Luck Companies. “Mark constantly challenges our associates to explore opportunities that will evolve our environmental work so that we can continue to make a positive impact on our communities and neighbors.”

According to the company, Williams is responsible for implementing Luck Companies’ environmental management system across the entire footprint of the business. Luck Stone facilities received zero notices of violations over the past four years, according to the company.

Williams currently serves as chairman of NSSGA’s Environmental Committee. He is also responsible for maintaining Luck Stone’s participation in the Virginia Environmental Excellence Program at the Exemplary Environmental Enterprise level.
