Shell Lubricants opened a lubricants distribution hub in Winnemucca, Nevada.

The nearly 3-acre Winnemucca property with railroad spur access features a 7,500-sq.-ft. warehouse, two loading docks, and a 1,125-sq.-ft. concrete apron at the back of the warehouse with a bulk storage capacity of 155,000 gallons and 10 storage tanks.

Two 10,000-gallon tanks, five 15,000-gallon tanks and three 20,000-gallon tanks contain products such as engine oil, gear oil, antifreeze, specialized hydraulic oils and torque fluids. Tanks are equipped with filters in two places to prevent contamination by dust and moisture.

“Shell Lubricants believes effective equipment lubrication can deliver significant business value by contributing to improved productivity and reduced costs,” says Lee Zorn, general manager at Shell Lubricants. “However, the advantages of lubricants are often underestimated. For the local mining industry in the Winnemucca region, this could mean potential savings in millions over just a few years.”
