LafargeHolcim-logoLafargeHolcim acquired the assets of Transit Mix Concrete Co., a supplier of building materials in Colorado and subsidiary of Continental Materials Corp., for $27 million.

With the acquisition, LafargeHolcim takes ownership of the Transit Mix ready-mix operations and the Daniels Sand Quarry, all of which are located in and around Colorado Spring and Pueblo, Colorado. This marks the third acquisition in the last seven months for LafargeHolcim and the second in Colorado.

“For many years, Colorado has been a dynamic and growing market, and Transit Mix Concrete Co. has been a part of that growth,” says René Thibault, region head of North America and interim CEO for LafargeHolcim’s U.S. aggregate and construction materials business. “They are the largest construction materials producer in the southern Front Range, and this is a great opportunity to expand our business in Colorado. I’d like to welcome all Transit Mix Concrete employees to our company.”

Transit Mix has more than 180 employees and recorded adjusted revenues of $63 million in 2017. The company, founded in 1945, will continue to operate under it current name.
