Lafarge Canada acquired Mixcor Aggregates’ assets in Alberta, Canada.

According to Lafarge, the assets include 26 sites and 50 employees who will join the Lafarge team.

“Lafarge continues to be committed to investment and growth in Alberta, and contributing to our province’s economic recovery efforts,” says Brad Kohl, president and CEO of Lafarge Western Canada. “We look forward to welcoming these new employees to our team. We know they’re aligned with our culture of health and safety and that they share our vision to accelerate green construction.”

The acquisition is an example of Lafarge’s collaboration with leaders in Alberta’s government on shared priorities such as sustainable growth, green construction and driving the success of its communities, the company adds.

Lafarge is one of Alberta’s largest building materials companies with more than 2,000 employees across the province.

“We are pleased that our assets will continue to serve the infrastructure demands of Alberta,” says Terry Mix, president of Mixcor. “Having a partner like Lafarge ensures continued success for these sites.”
