Sales of aggregates were up in the third quarter at Holcim’s North American operations, with the company reporting a 1.9 percent gain in volume over the prior-year period.

According to Holcim, aggregate sales totaled 36.2 million metric tons.

Holcim sales of cement (up 12 percent) and ready-mixed concrete (up 14 percent) made sizable volume gains in the third quarter in North America, as well.

Additionally, Holcim says it made 10 bolt-on acquisitions in the first nine months of the year across its aggregate and ready-mix businesses. Holcim also acquired SES Foam and Polymers Sealants North America this year.

Companywide, Holcim’s net sales were up 10.4 percent in the third quarter while its recurring earnings before interest and tax (EBIT) were up 1.2 percent. Net sales are up 14.5 percent through the first nine months of 2023, Holcim adds, while its recurring EBIT is up 5.9 percent.

“I thank all members of the Holcim family for delivering another quarter of record results while navigating challenging times,” says Jan Jenisch, Holcim CEO.
