Highway patch makes progress, passes Senate

A measure that extends highway funding for two weeks has passed both the House and Senate. Now, the measure awaits President Obama’s signature.

Assuming Obama signs the measure, federal transportation spending would be extended until Dec. 4. Legislators say this latest patch will give them the necessary time to complete a multi-year highway bill.
