The 2019 ceremony in Indianapolis will be the seventh rendition of the Hall of Fame festivities, during which Pit & Quarry will welcome four more industry trailblazers to the hall’s illustrious ranks.

This year’s class features four men who made their marks on the equipment supply side of the industry, providing solutions and support to aggregate producers that elevated operations to new heights in production efficiency, safety and more. The 2019 class includes Gene Fisher (Fisher Industries), Manfred Freissle (Polydeck Screen Corp.), George Sidney (McLanahan Corp.) and Washington Samuel Tyler (W.S. Tyler/Haver & Boecker). Freissle and Sidney will be on hand for the induction ceremony while Fisher and Tyler will be enshrined posthumously.

The Hall of Fame festivities precede the start of AGG1, kicking off Monday, Feb. 11 at 7 p.m. with a cocktail reception that will be followed by dinner at 8 p.m. and the induction ceremony to begin shortly thereafter.

Tickets for the black-tie gala are $100 and can be purchased at www.pitandquarryhalloffame.com/tickets. Dinner and drinks are included with each ticket purchase. Ticket quantities are limited.

While the aggregate industry will honor Fisher, Freissle, Sidney and Tyler in Indianapolis, P&Q also pays tribute to the 2019 class within this issue. Read on for individual profiles of the inductees, who will ultimately be represented in the National Mining Hall of Fame & Museum in Leadville, Colorado, following February’s celebration.

P&Q partnered with the Colorado museum in 2015, giving residence to Pit & Quarry Hall of Fame inductees, whose plaques are showcased in the museum.
