Durex Products is promoting a number of screen media options at ConExpo-Con/Agg 2020, including the Accuslot, Armor and Livewire screens.

Accuslot wire cloth screen media is designed to provide the sizing accuracy of square openings with the production efficiency and cleaning ability of long-slot wire cloth, according to Durex.

The screen media is built for processing crushed stone, sand and gravel and materials with high moisture content. Accuslot screens help eliminate plugging and blinding, while minimizing the passing of slivers and chips. Clusters of wires can be spaced to match bucker bars. Various openings are available in tempered- or stainless-steel wire.

Armor Screens from Durex protect an operation with a long wear life, high open area and reduced noise, says the company.

Built from high-grade wire cloth with a molded coating of premium polyurethane, this combination of technologies creates screens that have more open area and a longer wear life than wire screens.

The Armor screen’s polyurethane covering is molded to create relief-tapered openings that are wider at the bottom. This design reduces plugging and increases throughput, the company adds.

Combined with its woven-wire backbone, the result is a wear-resistant screen for medium-load applications with abrasive wear. Armor screens install just like wire screen panels, so screen boxes for tensioned screen media require no modifications.

Livewire screen media is a hybrid-type screen, featuring molded rubber strips that hold wires in place.

This screen media is designed to boost production by reducing costly, time-consuming blinding, plugging and pegging problems – while also delivering a long wear life. Livewire screen media is available in tempered- or stainless-steel wires.

Durex’s wire specifications provide durability and strength, which permits the company to use lighter-gauge wire, allowing more openings per square foot of screening area. Its 60-durometer, compression-vulcanized rubber strips provide flexing action for self-cleaning capabilities. In addition, rubber strips deliver a long wear life in environmental conditions that may adversely affect thermoplastic polyurethane.

These rubber strips are available in four different sizes to match producers’ unique applications for large-particle or fine separation.

The Livewire line also features four different opening options: diamond-shaped, alternating “Z” and straight wire, herringbone and straight wire slot openings for maximum output in a variety of dry or damp applications.
