Douglas Manufacturing showcased two new products as part of its ConExpo-Con/Agg showcase, including the Interceptor super-duty, self-cleaning magnetic separator and the Premier duty drum pulley.

Douglas also displayed the Vortex spiral clean pulley, its CEMA class idlers and Guardian roll guards at the show.

What’s new?

According to Douglas, its new Interceptor super-duty, self-cleaning magnetic separator is designed specifically for portable plants. Features include a compact and lightweight design, a lagged drive pulley, a low-profile drive (electric or hydraulic), and Slide Tube take-ups.

Additionally, the new Premier duty drum pulley features the thick rims and integral end discs, according to the company. The end result is a significantly longer service life, Douglas says.

Tried and true

Another product Douglas had at ConExpo-Con/Agg was the Vortex spiral clean pulley. The company says the design of the flights and end plows helps to efficiently move tramp material to the edges of the pulley and away from the belt. This reduces vibration by maintaining continuous belt contact and eliminating the noise commonly associated with self-cleaning pulleys, Douglas says.Photo:

The Vortex includes AR400 center and edge support sections that significantly increase the overall service life of the product, Douglas adds.

Douglas’ CEMA class idlers featuring a three-lip polymer contact seal were also on display. These keep contaminants out of the bearing and the roll turning, according to the company. The idlers include heavy-gauge frames and CNC machine idler shafts that add to the overall value and durability of the design, according to Douglas.

Also, the company showcased the Guardian, which it characterizes as representing “the gold standard” of return roll guards. The design provides complete pinch-point protection, and the single-piece, lightweight UHMW cage is durable, easy to install and economical to ship.
