Deere & Co. implements senior management changes

With the retirement of Michael Mack, group president of John Deere Financial Services, global human resources and public affairs, Deere & Co. implemented changes in its senior management.

The company appointed Mark Howze to senior vice president and chief administrative officer and Cory Reed to president of John Deere Financial. The changes will be effective Nov. 1.

Mack is retiring after more than 30 years of service to the company. He worked in four business divisions at Deere and worked in information systems, finance, engineering, manufacturing, marketing and credit.

“As a business leader, Mike Mack acted with conviction and commitment in a manner consistent with John Deere’s core values,” says Samuel Allen, chairman and CEO. “His insightful thinking, unpretentious manner and boundless level of energy have been an inspiration to all of us.”

Howze currently serves as vice president of human resources for the company. His responsibilities will now expand to include human resources, labor relations, public affairs, communications, brand management and security. According to the company, his new position will focus on improved integration of important enterprise functions to drive employee engagement and execution of the John Deere strategy.

Reed currently serves as senior vice president of the Worldwide Agriculture & Turf Division with responsibility for the Intelligent Solutions Group. Reed joined Deere in 1998 and has held a variety of marketing and sales positions since then, including marketing manager for large tractors, regional sales and marketing for John Deere International in Switzerland. Prior to this position, he served as senior vice president of global marketing services for the Worldwide Agriculture & Turf Division.
