Presenting the latest technology for the aggregate industry:

Titan International expanded its STL3 tire line to include a total of seven tire sizes. The new 875/65R29 size is available for articulated dump trucks, wheel loaders and scrapers used in construction, mining and quarry applications, Titan says. According to the company, the dual-taper bead design and extra-wide steel bead on the STL3 give it high resistance to rim indexing. With its E-3/L-3 non-directional tread pattern and center-riding rib, the STL3 also provides excellent traction, a smooth ride and a long life, Titan says. Also, its full-width shoulder lug provides lateral stability.

Schurco Slurry’s shaft seal arrangement for slurry pumps can replace standard packed stuffing box arrangements, the company says. The custom-engineered seal is specifically tailored to the aggressive environments to which these pumps are applied, and it does not require pressurized flush water, according to the company. Instead, the seal utilizes a grease barrier fluid that quenches the inner-seal chamber to keep it both lubricated and cool for the life of the seal. The slurry pumps, in turn, can run continuously without a need for flush water with near-zero external leakage, according to Schurco Slurry.

The SS-2000 is the newest DTH (down-the-hole) drill in the Rock Commander line from Soosan America. According to Soosan, the SS-2000 is one of the most advanced, comfortable, reliable, productive and easily serviceable drill rigs on the market, featuring high penetration rates and low fuel consumption. Powered by a Cummins X15 Tier 4 diesel engine, the SS-2000 is ready to tackle 4.5-in. to 8-in. holes. The drill produces 950 cu. ft. per minute of air at 350 psi, Soosan says, and it has the capability to power the DTH hammer and clear holes with ease. The machine has an 8-in. touchscreen monitor, enabling users to view and check equipment status and system functions with the touch of a hand.

Eagle Iron Works (EIW) launched its Eagle Trek line of portable wash equipment, which includes familiar solutions and Eagle equipment designed into a standard array of sizes. EIW is currently offering two standard portable lines that are available in a range of sizes, depending on needs. The first is the Eagle Trek TSP, which features an EIW classifying tank over the top of a double screw washer. Combined with an Eagle double screw fine material washer, two typical construction-grade sand-specification products can be made simultaneously. The second unit, the Eagle Trek SSP (pictured at right), contains a horizontal screen and a double screw washer.
