Countdown to AGG1 Aggregates Academy & Expo: Record Breaker

By |  March 5, 2015

The 2015 AGG1 Aggregates Academy & Expo has achieved record-breaking exhibit space and exhibitor participation.

The co-located AGG1 Aggregates Academy & Expo and World of Asphalt will be held March 17-19, at the Baltimore Convention Center, in the scenic Inner Harbor area of the city. The two shows target the business and professional development needs of aggregates, asphalt, pavement-maintenance and traffic-safety professionals.

More exhibits, more education

More than 400 exhibitors will use about 130,000 net sq. ft. of exhibit space for the co-located events. More exhibitors and exhibit space means more of the latest equipment and products to compare side-by-side. Exhibitors include a mix of new and returning companies, from large multinationals with multiple product lines to smaller firms with niche products.

There will be 100-plus education sessions held in conjunction with AGG1 and World of Asphalt. Education includes the signature AGG1 Academy from the National Stone, Sand & Gravel Association (see page 24) and People, Plants and Paving Training Program from the National Asphalt Pavement Association, as well as several new and returning programs.

Global scope expands

Nearly 30 industry-related associations and groups worldwide are official show supporters. Co-located events include the Maryland Asphalt Association annual conference, North East Asphalt User/Producer Group executive board and steering committee meetings and American Road and Transportation Builders Association Safety in the Work Zone conference.

For the first time ever, World of Asphalt has been selected to participate in the International Buyer Select Program of the U.S. Department of Commerce (DOC), expanding the global scope of the show. An onsite International Trade Center, with DOC and show staff, will also facilitate interaction between exhibitors and international visitors.

“We look forward to a great World of Asphalt and AGG1, and providing a one-stop resource where attendees will find the products and gain the knowledge they need to succeed,” says Show Manager Rich Prausa.

Online planning tools to increase show ROI

Attendees can make the most efficient use of their valuable time onsite by using the shows’ interactive planning tools to organize their itinerary and create a personalized agenda ahead of time.

With the AGG1 and World of Asphalt “My Show Planner” and exhibitor directory, attendees can search the shows for exhibitors by company name, type of product, booth number and location on the show floor. Attendees can also schedule appointments, as well as must-attend education sessions and networking events, and update their itinerary as needed pre-show and onsite.

The online New Products and Technologies exhibitor preview helps attendees quickly find new and innovative products and services that will be on display. Special icons in the show directory will help attendees easily find program participants onsite.

Concurrent with AGG1 is the NSSGA convention (see page 36), and Pit & Quarry will hold its annual Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony & Dinner on Sunday night, prior to the start of the show (see page 38). Visit www.agg1.org.
