ContiTech to serve as supplier to Mexican distributor

By |  July 20, 2016

contitechApplied Mexico S.A. de C.V. and subsidiary Rodensa Mexico S.A. de C.V. completed a product changeover to ContiTech, a division of Continental, as a primary supplier in Mexico for industrial hoses, hydraulics, power transmission belts and several other products.

According to ContiTech, Applied Mexico is one of the largest industrial distribution networks in Mexico, with 22 facilities that provide industrial products for maintenance, repair and operational needs.

“This is a significant achievement for ContiTech,” says Jim Hill, NAFTA CEO of ContiTech. “It will enable us to continue our growth plans and increase our market share in Mexico. We value our expanded partnership with Applied. ContiTech and Applied Mexico share a mutual long-term strategy with a focus on aggressive growth.”

Most of the ContiTech products will be manufactured locally in the company’s Chihuahua plant in Mexico and be distributed to Applied Mexico and Rodensa from ContiTech’s San Luis Potosi warehouse in Mexico, the company says.

“The changeover to ContiTech will be a positive move for our customers,” says Sergio Nevarez, general director of Applied Mexico. “With most of the ContiTech products sourced locally, product availability will be even better.”

The ContiTech division of Continental supplies technical elastomer products and is a specialist in plastics technology. ContiTech develops and produces functional parts, components and systems for machine and plant engineering, mining, the automotive industry and other industries.
