Continental appoints head of the Americas

Continental named Matthew Futrelle head of sales and marketing for the Americas region for the company’s commercial specialty tires business.

In the role, Futrelle is responsible for all material handling, earthmoving and agriculture tire business in North America, Central America and South America.

“I am very pleased to announce Matthew Futrelle as Commercial Speciality Tires’ new head of sales and marketing for the Americas,” says Wolfgang Thomale, who heads the company’s newly created specialty tires business. “Matthew has been with Continental Commercial Specialty Tires for over four years already. With his extensive specialty tire background, deep understanding of our customers’ needs and knowledge of the American markets, I have the utmost confidence he will advance the Americas region forward.”

Futrelle joined the company in 2009 as part of the commercial vehicle tires division, where he became key account manager for trucks in the northern U.S. In 2016, he joined Continental’s commercial specialty tires business as the U.S. market manager and, since 2018, has served as the market manager for both the U.S. and Canada.

Futrelle succeeds Pavel Prouza, who joins the company’s hydraulic brake systems unit in the automative technologies group sector.
