ConExpo-Con/Agg 2020 is on the horizon

The show keeps on growing.

About 128,000 people converged on the Las Vegas Convention Center two and a half years ago for ConExpo-Con/Agg 2017, which co-located with IFPE 2017.

Producer and contractor attendance jumped 10 percent the last time around, and expectations are once again big for North America’s largest construction industry trade show.

Registration is currently open for ConExpo-Con/Agg 2020, which begins March 10 and runs through March 14.

Fully experiencing ConExpo-Con/Agg is always a multiday endeavor – probably more like a weeklong undertaking – and the 2020 edition will be no different. Attendees will undoubtedly want to plan ahead, though, as the addition of the Festival Grounds represents a significant change in the show layout.

While most of the exhibits aggregate producers will want to target remain in or just outside the Las Vegas Convention Center, the introduction of the Festival Grounds means anyone wanting to explore this new space will have to venture off site.

The Festival Grounds, spanning about 1.5 million gross sq. ft., is located on the Las Vegas Strip north of Circus Circus. The grounds will contain exhibits featuring a variety of wares, including earthmoving and material handling equipment, haulers, lifting equipment, and solutions for underground construction.

The Festival Grounds replaces the Gold Lot, which was previously situated across Paradise Road. The Gold Lot is currently under construction due to a facility expansion.

Although the Festival Grounds is a bit of a hike from the Las Vegas Convention Center, attendees can expect new and expanded transportation options to connect them with this new area – as well as other areas of the show.

“There will be multiple routes to get to the Festival Grounds,” says Dana Wuesthoff, vice president of exhibitions and event services at the Association of Equipment Manufacturers and show director for ConExpo-Con/Agg. “We’ll, of course, have hotel shuttles going from our hotels directly to the Festival Grounds, in addition to also directly to the Las Vegas Convention Center.”

Dedicated shuttles will run on a continuous loop between the Festival Grounds and the Las Vegas Convention Center, as well. The Las Vegas Monorail is yet another option to access areas of the show.

“Once again, we plan to include a complimentary Las Vegas Monorail in your show badge,” Wuesthoff says. “That will offer attendees another free opportunity to ride the Las Vegas Monorail, and they can utilize the SLS Station.”

What else to expect

While the Festival Grounds represents a change in the show, ConExpo-Con/Agg 2020 attendees can expect to see a number of familiar sights as they journey to Las Vegas next March.

The Tech Experience, for example, returns with two locations. Introduced in 2017, the immersive pavilion spanned 75,000 sq. ft. and explored three areas critical to the industry’s future: technology-focused worksites, workforce development, and infrastructure development innovations and trends.

Come 2020, attendees can expect the Tech Experience to again offer an engaging look at what’s coming in terms of technology solutions.

Additionally, big iron and new tech will take center stage at ConExpo-Con/Agg, with a number of equipment and technology innovations making their world debut in Las Vegas.

ConExpo-Con/Agg 2017 brought the industry a wealth of new equipment solutions in crushing, screening, conveying, material handling and more. The 2020 show will bring yet another wave of offerings that aggregate producers will want to explore to ensure their operation remains on the cutting edge.
