Caterpillar Global Mining renewed for another five years its exclusive agreement with Immersive Technologies, a supplier of equipment training simulators to the mining and earthmoving industries. Cat will exclusively recommend Immersive Technologies’ high- and medium-fidelity training simulator products and provide the confidential technical information required to develop them.

Both companies say they will continue to offer products that enhance safety, improve efficiency and increase productivity for those in the mining industry.

“We recognize Immersive Technologies’ market-leading position, and we are pleased to continue working together to ensure our customers receive the greatest value from Cat machines,” says Chris Curfman, vice president of Caterpillar Inc.’s Mining Sales & Support Division.

Immersive Technologies published recent case studies that highlight results mining operations are achieving using its simulation training, including a 10.4 percent average improvement in tire life and a 6.85 percent average reduction in fuel use.

“We are proud to continue this partnership for a further five years,” says Immersive Technologies’ CEO Peter Salfinger. “We are honored Caterpillar Global Mining recognizes the significant productivity and safety improvements our solutions have delivered to Caterpillar Global Mining’s and Immersive’s shared customers.”
