Caterpillar is displaying more than 30 machines and about 10 engine displays across three different exhibits spanning more than 60,000-sq.ft. at ConExpo-Con/Agg 2020.

New for this year’s ConExpo-Con/Agg is Cat’s outdoor Operator Stadium, located in the Festival Grounds, showcasing the company’s technologies and services with hubs for customers to learn more about Caterpillar products. The exhibit will also feature live equipment demonstrations and is the site for the Global Operator Challenge championship, which will crown a champion on Tuesday.

Also new for this year’s show is The Community Builder, hosted by the Caterpillar Foundation, which examines the issues industry leaders face when building more sustainable communities. According to the company, this immersive activation allows participants to virtually visit one of three locations in the world, where they can solve community issues and, by completing the experience, activate a donation from the Caterpillar Foundation to a community-building non-profit.

“Every day, we strive to make our customers more successful using our products and services,” says Jim Umpleby, CEO of Caterpillar. “This year’s ConExpo provides a hands-on opportunity to demonstrate how we can help reduce our customers’ total owning and operating costs, while increasing uptime and asset utilization, so they can profitably continue their work to build a better world.”

In addition, Caterpillar is featuring an array of new products and expanded product lines, as well as technology and services.

New products and expanded product lines

Caterpillar will feature five new Next Generation hydraulic excavators at ConExpo-Con/Agg. According to the company, the newest machines include wheeled, small, medium and large hydraulic excavators (M318, 313 GC, 315, 325, 395), center-pivot backhoe loader (420XE), dozers (D3, D7), wheel loader (920), motor grader (150 AWD) and 725 articulated truck offerings.

Technology and services

Caterpillar will debut both new and recently-introduced technology at ConExpo-Con/Agg: Cat Remote Services, including Remote Flash and Remote Troubleshoot; Cat Productivity, a web-based productivity management tool; an expanded remote control Cat Command offering, which allows users to control multiple pieces of equipment from a single station; Command for Compaction, which automated the compaction process; VisionLink, allowing for improved fleet management; the Cat App; and an augmented reality experience to learn about Cat Certified Rebuild.

According to Cat, the company will also offer visitors the opportunity to learn more about customizable ownership and maintenance plans via the Cat Customer Value Agreements.

“This year’s Caterpillar ConExpo experiences celebrates the people who operate our equipment, work in our industries and demonstrates how we put the customer first,” says Ramin Younessi, group president for construction industries at Caterpillar. “We will also have experts on hand to highlight how our technologies and services are helping increase customers’ safety, productivity and efficiency.”
