Baldor Electric Co.: Dodge MAXUM XTR

By |  March 21, 2013

The new Dodge MAXUM XTR concentric reducer features a compact, power-dense design, packaged in a rugged ductile iron housing, and is interchangeable with industry-preferred dimensions. The reducer’s Taconite seal system is standard and features a tandem HNBR seal design, with a grease purge cavity to optimize performance. The outer contact lip seal prevents ingress of contaminants without excessive re-lubrication. Longer-life tapered roller bearings, designed to meet or exceed AGMA standards, are used throughout the reducer. These bearings provide a minimum unadjusted L-10 life of over twice that of any other competitor. O-ring sealing and steel shims eliminate gasket creep. The units are available in nine case sizes, with torque ratings from 9,800 in.-lbs. to 575,000 in.-lbs. torque. Reducer accessories include internal high-capacity backstops, shaft-driven fans, scoop motor bracket package, or top motor mounts.
