Atlas Copco Power Technique unveiled three new electric submersible pumps designed specifically for drainage and sludge pumping applications.

The WEDA S30 and S60 pumps are sludge/trash pumps, while the WEDA D80 is a drainage pump. According to Atlas Copco, the pumps are compact, easy to maintain, and provide a faster and more effective dewatering solution.

The WEDA pumps are 15 to 30 percent lighter and consume up to 20 percent less energy than comparable models, according to the company. The lineup also features rotation and phase failure protection, adjustable wear-resistant rubber diffusors, and a built-in starter and motor protection system.

“WEDA pumps are not only durable, but also built for ease of use and service,” says Joe Moser, director of business development pumps at Atlas Copco. “The unique sealing system and modular design make them among the most flexible pumps on the market. These can be used on a multitude of job sites and guarantee optimal performance.”

Both the WEDA S30 and S60 pumps can handle thick, soft, wet mud in addition to other mixtures of liquids and solids, according to the company. The pumps can also pass pH values from 5 to 8 of pumped liquid, particles and debris of up to 2 in. through the pump housing with minimal wear.

In addition, the WEDA S range includes improved cable sealing for water leakage protection, as well as an improved rib design to provide external cooling to the motor for extended running time. The WEDA S30 features a rated 3 hp with a weight of 55 pounds and a discharge of 3 in. The WEDA S60 has a rated power of 9.2 hp with a weight of 143 pounds and a discharge of 4 in.

The WEDA D80 drainage pump, on the other hand, is designed to handle either clean or dirty water. The pump can also handle pH values between 5 to 8 and is able to pass small solids up to nearly 1/2 in.

According to the company, the WEDA D80 is flexible by allowing discharged to be mounted either sideways or vertically. Like the S range pumps, the WEDA D80 also features an improved cable sealing to protect against water leakage from cable entry.

The drainage pump features a rated power of 31 hp, a weight of 400 pounds, and a discharge of 4 to 6 in.

All drainage and sludge pumps are available with WEDA+ features, including phase failure protection, thermal switches, rotational control, and a 65-ft. power cable, according to Atlas Copco.

Atlas Copco, founded in 1873 in Stockholm, Sweden, offers its customers compressors, vacuum solutions and air treatment systems, construction and mining equipment, power tools and assembly systems.
