The Ortner uses much less water than other dewatering and classifying machines, and rinses sand and other materials up to 3-in.

Material is fed into a slowly revolving pan and vibrated at high frequency, separating the various sizes of material. Fines and water rise to the top and discharge over the pan’s edge. Coarser material sinks to the bottom, where settled particles are carried up and out of the water. A stationary plow diverts the dewatered material to a central discharge spout.

The Ortner consumes far less power, creating significant savings for the operator.
