The announcement was made at Bauma 2016.

According to the companies, integrating the Trimble 3-D machine control solution on Volvo excavators will complement the Volvo Dig Assist capability to enable the use of 3-D constructible models, as-build data and other Trimble Connected Site technologies.

“We are very pleased to work with Volvo on a machine control solution integrating the best of what both companies have to offer,” says Bryn Fosburgh, vice president at Trimble. “Contractors are seeking new ways to improve competitiveness, efficiency and productivity. Tightly integrating Trimble solutions with Volvo allows our mutual customers to more easily leverage construction technology in their business.”
