Volvo Construction Equipment unveiled a new line of application-specific wheel loader buckets with increased capacities and spillage protection features to boost cycle times, according to the company.

Volvo’s Rehandling bucket, Rehandling Flat Floor bucket and Sand bucket all fit Volvo L110 to L350 wheel loaders. Stefan Salomonsson, product manager for wheel loaders with Volvo Construction Equipment, says these bucket models can be matched for a variety of ground conditions so operators have an easier time capturing and delivering material.

The Volvo Rehandling bucket transports tougher aggregate material best, and the company says the bucket’s design helps operators to reduce fuel costs. The Volvo Rehandling Flat Floor bucket works best for handling, stockpiling and loading-processed materials such as sand, gravel and aggregate because the bucket penetrates maximum traction on sand and softer terrain. The Volvo Sand bucket functions best in applications where the ground conditions are soft and traction is compromised. Designed for handling sand or aggregate, the Sand bucket’s long floor maximizes penetration for improved fill-factor, while its flat design helps to maintain a clear and level work area.

Spill guards on the buckets also help to deflect materials and protect the linkage, while convex side plates help to retain material. To prevent different material grades from mixing, the buckets integrate minimized pockets. All three buckets are available for both torque parallel and Z-bar linkage on Volvo wheel loaders.
