Volvo CE updates Load Assist application

According to Volvo, operators using the Load Assist app can get real-time information on every bucket’s load within ± 1 percent accuracy.

Volvo Construction Equipment (Volvo CE) updated the Load Assist, on-board weighing application for its L110H to L260H wheel loaders.

According to the company, operators using the app, along with a new version of the Android platform, can get real-time information on every bucket’s load within ± 1 percent accuracy.

Using the app, operators can access real-time information by using the on-board Volvo Co-Pilot display. The 10-in., high-resolution touchscreen works with the app, which captures all load data via pressure and position sensors, Volvo adds. Operators can also monitor the loading process in real time and measure bucket load on the go.

In addition, colored bars help operators visualize the tonnage in the loader’s bucket, as well as tonnage already delivered and tonnage that needs to be delivered. Other key updates include a new interface, a new view selection and an A to Z sorting function, Volvo says. The payload can also be displayed in pounds or tons, and the new Android tethering function allows for remote software downloads.

“Load Assist on-board weighing give operations a level of accuracy that will improve their efficiency and productivity even more, helping to reduce over-loading, under-loading, reweighing and waiting times,” says Eric Yeomans, product manager for wheel loaders at Volvo CE. “Additionally, our system is dynamic, meaning wheel loader operators can weigh their loads on the move.”
