The Extreme Duty Series of motorized drums by Van der Graaf have increasingly found their way into the harsh and abrasive environment of a quarry. The all-enclosed design reduces downtime cycles and maintenance costs by protecting the motor and gear reducer from dust and rocks. In addition, with 96 percent mechanical efficiency, the Van Der Graaf drum motor uses less energy to move the load. In order to keep the belt clean, Van der Graaf is introducing the RBC (rotating belt cleaner). A spiral brush mounted on the motorized drum, which can be installed under the belt, rotating from 20 to 800 RPM.
