By |  October 13, 2014

Summit Materials acquired three companies— Southwest Ready-Mix in Houston; Colorado County Sand & Gravel in Colorado County, Texas; and Concrete Supply of Topeka/Builders Choice Concrete in Topeka, Kan.

Southwest Ready-Mix will now become a part of Alleyton Resource’s ready-mix concrete business, Allied Concrete. In addition to this, Colorado County Sand & Gravel will become a reserve for Allied Concrete. Summit acquired Alleyton Resource in January 2014.

According to the company, Concrete Supply of Topeka/Builders Choice Concrete operates 10 ready-mix concrete plants and two sand and gravel sites in Topeka and northern Kansas, as well as a ready-mix concrete plant in western Missouri.

“We are very pleased to welcome these three companies and their employees to Summit Materials,” says Tom Hill, CEO of Summit. “They are a great cultural, geographic and business match with us and a furtherance of our strategy of growth through acquisitions.”
