Danette Swank, president of Philippi-Hagenbuch, received the Women in Manufacturing STEP (Science, Technology, Engineering and Production) Award from The Manufacturing Institute on March 26.

A total of 130 STEP Award recipients were recognized by the institute at a reception in Washington, D.C. The awards represent the honorees’ leadership and accomplishments in the manufacturing industry.

“These 130 women are the faces of exciting careers in manufacturing,” says Jennifer McNelly, president of The Manufacturing Institute. “We chose to honor these women because they each made significant achievements in manufacturing through positive impact on their company and the industry as a whole.”

The STEP Awards are a part of the institute’s larger STEP Ahead Initiative, which was launched to promote the role of women in the manufacturing industry.
