NSSGA, wildlife council partner in recognition of Earth Day: NSSGA and the Wildlife Habitat Council (WHC) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding. This pact establishes a framework for NSSGA and WHC to work with industry and encourage participation in programs of each organization. They also hope to engage and demonstrate voluntary corporate leadership in environmental performance, including enhancement and restoration of wildlife habitat. Earth Day is observed on April 22.
Goodyear Engineered Products conveyor belt plant to expand: Veyance Technologies Inc. has begun construction of an $18 million expansion at its conveyor belt plant in Marysville, Ohio. When completed in September, the 24,000 sq. ft. addition will provide new technology for the production of heavy-duty conveyor belts, according to Plant Manager Bryan Thompson. He said the investment demonstrates Veyance’s ongoing commitment to the conveyor belt industry for mining operations. Veyance is the exclusive manufacturer and marketer of Goodyear Engineered Products. The Marysville facility was built in 1967.
Superior Industries expands dealer partnership in Gulf Coast: Superior Industries has announced that McCourt & Sons Equipment Inc. is its new, exclusive equipment dealer throughout Louisiana and Mississippi. The deal expands an existing partnership between the companies that started in Texas in 2006. McCourt & Sons will market, service and sell Superior’s line of conveyor equipment, including the TeleStacker conveyor, RazerTail truck unloader, PowerStacker conveyor and more. A family owned and operated company, McCourt & Sons Equipment Inc. brings more than 65 years of experience in crushing, screening, conveying, grinding and recycling markets.
TorcUP launches new web site: TorcUP has announced a new, improved web site that assists customers in the bolting industry, before and after purchase. The web site not only allows customers to view the tooling, but also gives part numbers and accessories, taking the guesswork out of sending a PO and allowing fast processing. TorcUP assists customers with meeting their needs and provide them with the appropriate recommendation for tooling; many links will lead customers to staff members. The web site now includes copies of all manuals for tooling in PDF format.
SLV Earthmovers sells $4.22 million of equipment through IronPlanet: IronPlanet, an online auction company for used construction and agricultural equipment, conducted a one-owner auction for SLV Earthmovers of Monte Vista, Colo. The auction liquidated $4.22 million of equipment, achieving 136 percent of its initial price target. The SLV Earthmovers auction drew a record number of potential bidders, nearly 15,000, to the auction and achieved an average of 41 bids per item.
