NSSGA vice president chosen for steering committee

Pit & Quarry

John Hayden, NSSGA’s vice president of environment, safety and health, will represent NSSGA on the Minerals Information Institute steering committee. The Minerals Information Institute merged with the Society of Mining, Metallurgy and Exploration Foundation to create a much larger minerals and mining public education organization. The MII executive committee selected eight representatives from the aggregates, metal, coal and industrial minerals mining sectors to be on the initial MII steering committee. Hayden is a longstanding member of SME, a professional geologist and has more than 23 years of experience in the aggregates industry. John English of Vulcan Materials Co. is also on the steering committee.
