NSSGA offers mine planning webinar

By |  February 12, 2014

NSSGA continues its AGG1 Online webinar series with a one-hour event entitled “Mine Planning—Managing Your Geological Resource” that is scheduled to take place Feb. 20.

Geologists with decades of experience in the mining and aggregates industries will discuss how the development of a robust geological model for a site forms the basis of an integrated mine plan. Attendees will learn how an informed and integrated mine plan provides many benefits for an operation, including:

  • sustainable management,
  • maximizing geological resources safely throughout the life of the quarry,
  • minimizing the handling and double-handling of overburden and waste rock, and
  • enabling ongoing rehabilitation and restoration of a site to meet environmental and planning permit conditions.

The webinar will be based on real-life examples from both crushed stone and sand and gravel quarries, NSSGA says.

Attendees may earn one Professional Development Hour for each AGG1 Online webinar they attend. For more information, click here.
