National Mining Hall of Fame ceremony is next month

nmhofThe 29th annual National Mining Hall of Fame Induction Banquet will take place Sept. 24 at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas.

The banquet, which is hosted by the National Mining Hall of Fame & Museum, precedes MINExpo International 2016.

Four men will be enshrined in the National Mining Hall of Fame during the banquet, including Stanley Dempsey, Dr. Haydn Murray, William Poundstone and Robert Shoemaker. In addition, the National Mining Hall of Fame’s Prazen Living Legend of Mining Award will be given to the Women’s Mining Coalition.

The National Mining Hall of Fame & Museum, located in Leadville, Colo., is a partner of the Pit & Quarry Hall of Fame. Plaques commemorating Pit & Quarry Hall of Fame inductees will be housed at the National Mining Hall of Fame & Museum.
