MSHA webinar to focus on mine data retrieval

By |  October 16, 2017

The Mine Safety & Health Administration (MSHA) will hold a public webinar to address its Mine Data Retrieval System (MDRS), as well as the modernizing of the agency’s website.

Taking place this Thursday, Oct. 19, 2:00-3:00 p.m. EDT, the discussion will cover ways to improve the MDRS and build a new safety materials search page for MSHA’s public stakeholders. The agenda includes:

  • Current MDRS overview
  • Vision forward
  • Data visualization
  • New fatality database page
  • New safety materials page

During this webinar, which is geared toward mine safety and health professionals, as well as miners, MSHA will demonstrate its current systems and discuss potential enhancements. The purpose, MSHA says, is to acquaint participants with the system and provide them the opportunity to offer recommendations or feedback.

The agency says an RSVP is recommended, but not required.
