The National Mining Hall of Fame and Museum has appointed Paul C. Jones chairman of its board of directors. Jones succeeds Stanley Dempsey, who served as chairman for three years.

Jones, a mine industry veteran of 50 years, is a Hall of Fame founder and a life member of the organization. He became a board member in 2007 and, in 2009 and 2010, he chaired the strategic planning committee, which developed a long-range plan for the organization. Jones has also served as chairman of the Hall of Fame’s fundraising committee.

Jones’ professional experience includes consulting, technical, management and executive positions in base and precious metals, fuels and industrial minerals in multiple countries.
