The Society for Mining, Metallurgy & Exploration (SME) and the Canadian Institute of Mining Metallurgy & Petroleum (CIM) are jointly hosting a symposium Oct. 20-22 on safety and reliability. The symposium, “Safety In Mining: A Reliable Operation Is A Safe Operation,” will be held at the Hilton Toronto in Ontario, Canada.

“In this joint conference, attendees will learn the elements of successful safety and health strategies and tactics on which employees and managers can rely to ensure that everyone goes home safely, every day,” says Jürgen F. Brune, conference co-chair and a Colorado School of Mines research professor.

According to a press release, one session features four industry leaders who will share their respective organization’s vision and journeys to attain safety and operational excellence.
