Komatsu America Corp. introduced the HD325-8 and HD405-8 off-highway trucks as its latest additions to its rigid frame truck family.

The HD325-8 features a payload capacity of 40.3 tons, and the HD405-8 features a payload capacity of 44.1 tons. Equipped with Tier 4 Final certified engines, the trucks’ Komatsu SAA6D140E-7 engines offer a net 514 hp.

Komatsu’s Traction Control System comes standard on both machines, which enables users to apply independent brake assemblies to achieve optimum traction in varying ground conditions, the company says. The system operates without the need for differential lock-up, so steering performance is not compromised.

Other features on the trucks include a quiet cab, 7-in. LCD color monitor, dedicated rearview mirror, fast-fill fuel system, and heated and ventilated operator’s seat. In addition, the company increased the tire size for its HD405-8 truck from 18.00 R33 to 21.00 R33 for extended wear properties.
