Griesemer named NSSGA Safety and Health Pro of 2014

Griesemer-LouisThe National Stone, Sand and Gravel Association (NSSGA) named Louis Griesemer as its James M. Christie Safety & Health Professional of 2014. The award recognizes an individual for substantial contributions and commitment to safe operating practices within his company and the industry.

Griesemer is the president of Springfield Underground and was the 2007 chairman of NSSGA’s board of directors. He is also a certified safety instructor as designated by the U.S. Mine Safety and Health Administration and led the NSSGA’s Safety and Health Pledge program.

“Louis’ high standards on behalf of safety and health are a great example of the aggregates industry’s commitment to comprehensive worker wellness celebrated by the James M. Christie Award,” says Mike Johnson, president and CEO of NSSGA. “Louis has made a substantial impact on workplace safety throughout the United States.”
