Douglas Manufacturing released its Vortex Spiral Clean Pulley. According to this company, the new pulley is designed for harsh operating conditions and for applications where uninterrupted operation is a must.

The pulley features a more efficient self-cleaning ability than standard wing pulleys, Douglas reports. It also includes improved sealing at transfer points, as well as reduced noise levels and reduced vibration.

The Vortex Spiral Clean Pulley boasts a plow design that forces tramp material to the edge of the pulley and discharges it away from the belt, bearings and other equipment. The design also aids belt tracking and moves the belt gently toward the middle of the pulley, the company says. In addition, its flight design features continuous welds that prevent wing folding.

Finally, the pulley includes an abrasion-resistant center. Its edge support and XT-style bushings come standard. Keyless locking elements and QD-style bushings are optional, Douglas adds.

Established in 1978 and headquartered in Pell City, Alabama, Douglas Manufacturing is a manufacturer of conveyor components and engineered conveying solutions. The company manufactures more than 40 different conveyor components, including CEMA class/heavy-duty drum and wing pulleys, mine-duty drum and wing pulleys and more.
