Cemex USA opened a new U.S. headquarters in Houston that houses more than 200 employees.

The company held a ribbon-cutting ceremony to mark the opening of the 82,000-sq.-ft. office.

“These new offices show how Cemex USA stands strong,” says Ignacio Madridejos, Cemex USA president. “This beautiful building will be part of the community for years and illustrates our commitment to being part of it.”

Cemex USA occupies two floors of the new building, which is owned and managed by MetroNational. The Houston headquarters moved across an interstate and is designed to tell the story of the company’s products through the use and display of aggregate, cement and concrete, the company says. A customer experience center has the look and feel of a high-tech trading floor with up-to-the-minute information displayed on video monitors mounted on a circular ring made of rebar, Cemex adds.

“This office building was built utilizing Cemex concrete for its structure,” says Ed Prins, Cemex USA’s director of real estate. “Additionally, we worked with our architects, Inventure Design of Houston, to showcase the versatility of our products internally, and it illustrates how cement is the foundation of our lives every day.”
