Case taps Leica Geosystems for machine control technologies

By |  April 2, 2014

Case Construction Equipment formed a pact with Leica Geosystems to provide machine control technologies – both factory installed and aftermarket – for its construction equipment. The agreement — part of a global alliance between Leica Geosystems and Case’s parent company, CNH Industrial — also includes a commitment to shared product development.

Leica Geosystems solutions and other machine control opportunities from the factory will be fully integrated on Case equipment. In addition, customers will receive greater access to and support for these technologies through the Case dealer network, the company says. Case will retain the ability to work with all major machine control providers through factory options.

“It was important for us to help make machine control technology more accessible and practical for the end user, and this agreement will make it easier for contractors to deploy it through their Case dealer,” says Jim Hasler, vice president, Case Construction Equipment. “Thanks to this partnership with Leica Geosystems, we can look at our equipment from step one and determine the best ways to integrate machine control and other technologies into each machine. By doing this early in the development process, and working directly with the Leica Geosystems engineering team, we’ll be able to provide grading and earthmoving contractors with entirely new levels of productivity and efficiency.”
