Digging up some good news
March 29, 2011 By: Pit & Quarry StaffDepartment of Transportation Secretary Ray LaHood made a special appearance at ConExpo-Con/Agg last week in Las Vegas, and he brought some encouraging news with him. He told the show’s Daily News that he expects to sign a multi-year highway bill by August and ensure that it is pushed through Congress. LaHood’s visit to ConExpo-Con/Agg came ahead of National Safe Digging Month in April, as he urged contractors to call 811 before digging – to avoid damage to underground wires, cables and pipeline. – Brian Richesson
