AirGon named North American distributor for YellowScan

By |  February 14, 2018

AirGon, a subsidiary of GeoCue Group, is now the North American distributor for YellowScan.

YellowScan, a France-based manufacturer of small unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) LIDAR scanning systems, set an agreement for AirGon to sell, train and support the product line. The YellowScan system choices range from from the mapping-grade YellowScan Mapper to the Riegl-based YellowScan VX and the Velodyne VLP32C- based Surveyor Ultra.

“We are very pleased with this superb addition to our AirGon solution offerings,” says Lewis Graham, general manager of AirGon and president of GeoCue Group. “I think 2018 will be the beginning of a groundswell movement to LIDAR-equipped drones. We did an extensive review of systems available on the market and found the YellowScan products to be the only solution that really meets the reliability requirements necessary to minimize downtime. Drone LIDAR systems are rapidly advancing and thus must be capitalized over a fairly short lifespan. When you face this challenge, reliability is keenly important. In addition, the broad applicability of the various YellowScan systems from mapping to survey accuracy allows us to meet each customer’s unique needs. We have been offering LIDAR workflows solutions and processing tools since 2003.”

The YellowScan agreement allows AirGon to offer a turnkey experience for its drone mapping customers.

“We are very excited to name AirGon our North American distributor,” says Pierre d´Hauteville, CEO of YellowScan. “The GeoCue Group has been providing consulting, training and software for the manned aerial and mobile LIDAR community since its inception. They have a sterling reputation in the industry for outstanding technical support.”
