AGC names safest construction companies
March 31, 2011The Associated General Contractors of America named 39 firms as the nation’s safest construction companies. The association, which oversees the Construction Safety Excellence Awards, an annual ranking of construction safety programs, noted that these companies were recognized for the strength of their safety programs and their overall safety performance during 2010.
The following companies received first place for their safety programs: Miller Bros. Construction Inc. of Archbold, Ohio; Austin Bridge & Road L.P. of Irving, Texas; Glacier Construction Co. of Greenwood, Colo.; Cox Construction Co. of San Diego; Fretz Constriction Co. of Houston; Paric Corp. of O’Fallen, Mo.; W.S. Bellows Construction Corp. of Houston; Linbeck Group LLC of Houston; C.F. Jordan Construction LLC of El Paso, Texas; Flintco LLC of Tulsa, Okla.; Turner Construction Co. of Woodcliff, N.J.; West Construction Co. Inc. of Anchorage, Alaska; Blois Construction Inc. of Oxnard, Calif.; The Delaney Group Inc., a Tetra Tech company of Mayfield, N.Y.; URS Energy and Construction of Boise, Idaho; Gray Construction of Lexington, Ky.; Reese Electric Inc. of North Bend, Ore.; Peterson Beckner Industries Inc. of Houston; Kenny Electric of Denver; and Vulcan Industrial Contractors Co. LLC of Birmingham, Ala.
In addition to the first-place winners, the following companies won second place: Granite Construction Inc. of Watsonville, Calif.; Slayden Construction Group Inc. of Stayton, Ore.; A.A. Boos & Sons Inc., Oregon, Ohio; Corna Kokosing Construction Co. of Westerville, Ohio; Soltek Pacific Construction Co. of San Diego; Caddell Construction Co. Inc. of Montgomery, Ala.; Barton Malow Co. of Southfield, Mich.; PCL Construction Services Inc., Denver; Syblon Reid of Folsom, Calif.; Flatiron Construction Corp. of Firestone, Colo.; Straub Construction Inc. of Benicia, Calif.; West Electric Group of Colorado Springs, Colo.; and Encore Electric Inc. of Englewood, Colo.
The following companies were awarded third place for the quality of their safety programs: Dawson Construction Inc. of Bellingham, Wash.; Blach Construction Co. of Santa Clara, Calif.; Adolfson & Peterson Inc. of Minneapolis; JE Dunn Construction of Houston; and Johnson, Finch & McClure Construction of Lakeside, Calif.
