AEM launches campaign for National Safety Month

By |  June 1, 2017

The Association of Equipment Manufacturers (AEM) partnered with the National Safety Council (NSC) to launch a campaign in honor of National Safety Month.

The campaign, called Think Safety 365, is designed to encourage equipment operators to keep safety top of mind 365 days a year. According to NSC, nearly 13,000 American workers are injured each day, and preventable injuries are the fourth leading cause of death in the United States.

“The message of safety is one we should never get complacent about,” says James Vos, AEM safety materials manager. “We need to wake up every day, 365 days a year, with a commitment to being safety conscious.”

As a part of the campaign, AEM outlined five basic tips to help workers focus on safety, which include taking advantage of available safety training; being alert and knowing the work area and equipment; following the rules of safe equipment preparation and start-up, operations and maintenance; setting an example for your well-being and the protection of others; and thinking about what is most important to you that makes you want to stay safe.

“In the routine of day-to-day and deadlines, events such as National Safety Month are a reminder and opportunity to elevate and emphasize the safety message,” Vos says.

As a part of the campaign, AEM is also offering a free download of its equipment safety infographic poster.
