AEM dubs ‘I Make America’ award winners

By |  November 10, 2015

The Association of Equipment Manufacturers (AEM) named the 2015 winners of its grassroots advocacy awards for companies that have reached the highest level of activity in its “I Make America” campaign.

AEM created the awards to help build grassroots support and advocate for pro-manufacturing policies that create and sustain jobs in the United States.

“It’s more important than ever that our elected officials understand the critical importance of our industry to economic prosperity and quality of life across America, and these companies have really stepped up in their communities,” says Dennis Slater, president of AEM. “We appreciate their hard work throughout the year, and this is our chance to publicly acknowledge their outstanding efforts.”

This year, AEM added the “I Make America” Legacy award to its list of awards. This award is given to companies that have been active in “I Make America” and earned continuous Gold status since the campaign was initiated five years ago. Gold status is achieved by participating extensively in “I Make America” activities, which include employee involvement; outreach to state, local and federal legislators; and promoting campaign sign-ups at trade shows with allied trade associations. AEM awarded Caterpillar and International Construction Equipment with Legacy awards.
